Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of CollectiveTap and any links created or accessed through the service.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CollectiveTap (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
What the Service Is
CollectiveTap is a URL-native micro-app platform. Each link represents a specific tool instance (for example, a single list, vote, schedule, note, table, task board, expense split, or hub).
Typical link shape: /a/:tool/:id
Capability Links ("caps") and Your Responsibility
The Service uses signed capability tokens ("caps") embedded in URLs to control access (for example: read-only vs read-write). There are no accounts and no passwords.
- If you share a URL, you may be sharing its permissions.
- You are responsible for safeguarding any admin or read-write URLs you control, including Hub admin links.
- If you lose an admin link, you may lose the ability to manage or delete that link.
User-Generated Content and Ownership
Content entered into links (titles, items, votes, notes, schedules, expenses, etc.) is provided by users. You are responsible for content entered into links you create and for how you share it.
You represent that you have the necessary rights to post the content you submit and that it does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- violate any law or regulation;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- post, share, or distribute unlawful, harmful, or exploitative content;
- attempt to bypass security controls, forge caps, scrape, probe, or abuse the Service;
- interfere with or disrupt infrastructure (including excessive automated requests);
- use the Service for spam, phishing, malware, or deceptive practices.
Abuse Prevention, Suspension, and Termination
We may investigate, restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Service (including specific links) at any time to protect users, enforce these Terms, comply with legal obligations, or prevent abuse.
This includes the right to disable links associated with fraud, malware, harassment, or other prohibited activity.
No Warranty (As-Is)
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
No Uptime Guarantee
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be unavailable, slow, or experience errors, and features may change or be discontinued.
No Liability for Data Loss
You acknowledge that data can be lost or become inaccessible. We are not liable for any loss of data, including content stored in links, cached artifacts, or rendered previews.
Tool-Specific Disclaimers
Split (expense splitting)
Split is provided for convenience and informational purposes only. It is not financial, accounting, legal, or tax advice. You are responsible for verifying amounts, allocations, and any real-world payments or reimbursements.
Slot (scheduling / availability)
Slot helps coordinate availability. We do not guarantee attendance, participation, time accuracy, or outcomes. You are responsible for confirming final details with participants and for any real-world scheduling decisions.
Hub (link organization)
Hub is provided as an organizational layer for links. You are responsible for the links you add to a Hub, who you share Hub links with, and whether you are authorized to distribute linked content. Hub admin links grant elevated control and must be treated as sensitive credentials.
Sharing a Hub can increase discoverability of linked content and previews within that Hub. Only include links you intend participants to access in that context.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law (United States)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
