Movie Night Poll
the Whole Group Can Answer

Choosing the film takes longer than the film. Put the shortlist in a poll, share it in the chat, and let everyone pick up to two. The card shows which one is leading before anyone opens it, so by the time the popcorn is ready the choice is made.

From shortlist to pressing play

1
Make the shortlist

The Movie night template opens with six genres and up to two picks each. Swap them for real titles, or keep the genres and pick the film inside the winner.

2
Let everyone pick

Share the link. Each person taps their picks, no name needed unless you ask for one, and can change their mind until the poll closes. Turn on suggestions and anyone can add a film.

3
Close it and press play

Set it to close tonight, or after a set number of people have voted. The card tags the winner, so sharing the link again settles it in the chat.

The loudest person no longer picks every time

🍿
Everyone gets a say

Up to two picks each means the quiet one’s favourite still has a chance, and the bars show where the group leans.

➕
Suggestions welcome

Let people add options and a friend can put in the film everyone forgot. The same title typed twice is only added once.

📋
A watchlist that remembers

A Sheet with Movie, Genre, Picked by and Watched keeps the backlog and who suggested each film, and the card counts how many you have watched.

Weekly, one-off, or over a video call

The same poll works for all of them; the extras change.

Weekly family night
Take turns picking

A watchlist Sheet with a Picked by column shows who chose each film, so turns are easy to keep, and ticks what you have already watched.

The film and the guest list

Pair the poll with an Event so guests RSVP, bring a plus-one if you allow it, and see the start time on the card.

Rank them instead

A ranked poll runs an instant runoff: the least-liked film drops out each round until one has a majority, so a split vote still ends in one film.

Which evening works

A dates poll lets each person mark the evenings they can make, and the card rings the best one.

Movie night poll FAQ

Is it free?
Yes. The poll, the watchlist and the card in the chat are free, with no account for anyone.
Can people suggest a film that is not on the list?
Yes. Turn on “Let people add options” when you make the poll, and anyone with the link can add one.
Are votes anonymous?
By default, yes: nobody is asked for a name. You can make names optional or required, and names only show on the page, never on the card in the chat.
Can people change their vote?
Yes, until the poll closes. You can turn that off if you want first answers to stick.
How does the poll end?
Pick a close time such as Tonight, set it to close after a number of people have voted, or close it yourself from the organizer link.
What happens with a tie?
The card tags both films as Tied. Break it yourself, or run a ranked poll, which keeps dropping the least-liked film until one wins.
