Birthday invite:
a real headcount, no chasing

Most birthday invites go out as a text, and the answers come back as eleven thumbs-up, two “prob!” and a lot of silence. This one is a link. It unfurls in the chat as the invite, and each person answers Going, Maybe or Can’t go on a page that keeps the count for you.

What the group sees

Pick Birthday and the invite opens on the Poster layout in the Confetti look: the name of the party set huge, the date and time on one line, and the tally under it. Everyone gets a Going, Maybe or Can’t go button and room for one guest. Type the title (“Nina’s 30th”, “Theo turns 7”), the place and the time, and the card in the chat looks like an invitation, not a form.

The birthday card: Nina’s 30th
Example: “Nina’s 30th”. Every chat app shows this card; tapping it opens the page.

The part you’ll actually use is the count. Plus-ones are added on the page, so “11 going” already includes them and you can book the table without doing arithmetic. The Maybes sit in their own group, which is your list of people to nudge two days before. A guest who can’t eat gluten can say so in the note for the host, so you hear about it before the cake is ordered, not at the table.

How to set it up

1
Pick Birthday

Going / Maybe / Can’t go, one plus-one each, the Poster layout in Confetti. Swap the look or the colour if the party calls for it.

2
Type the party, the place and the time

The page turns the address into a Maps link and gives everyone Add to calendar with the real end time.

3
Send it, then send it again

Drop the link in the chat. A few days before, share it once more and the card shows the new count.

A birthday timeline

1
Two or three weeks out

Send the link. If the restaurant needs a final number, set RSVP by for the day before you have to call them.

2
The week before

Open the page and look at the Maybes. A direct “are you coming?” to those four people beats another message to the whole chat.

3
The day before

Share the link again so the card in the chat shows the real count. Post a host update if anything changed, like the back room instead of the patio.

4
On the night

Guests who tapped Remind me get a notification before it starts. You get to stop answering “what time again?”

What it does for you

The number includes the plus-ones

A guest adds their partner on the page, and the count on the card goes up by two. The reservation matches the list.

Maybe is a real answer

People who aren’t sure say so, instead of saying nothing. You know exactly who to chase.

It looks like a party

The Poster layout sets the name of the night large in your colour. Confetti is the default; Candy, Disco and Sunset are a tap away.

Birthday FAQ

Is it free, and do guests need to sign up?

It’s free, and nobody signs up, you included. Guests tap the link, pick an answer and type a name. There’s no app, no account and no phone number to hand over.

Can I make it a kids’ party with parents answering?

Yes. Parents answer for their child and add a sibling or a parent as a plus-one. Turn plus-ones up to two or three if whole families are coming, and ask for allergies in the description; parents can reply in the note for the host.

Can I hide who else is coming?

Turn on Hide attendee names and the card and the page show only the count. It’s useful for a work birthday where not everyone knows each other.

What if we move it to another night?

Change the date from your organizer tools on the page and post an update saying why. Guests who turned on reminders get the update as a notification, and the next time you share the link the card shows the new date.

Can we chip in for a present on the same link?

Keep the invite for the RSVPs and make a Split link for the gift, then put both in a Hub so the group has one link for the whole thing.

Make a birthday link.

Free, no account, one link for the group.
