Shared Camping Packing List
for the Whole Group

Every group camping trip ends with two stoves, three coolers and no lighter. Share one packing list in the trip chat instead. It opens grouped by Shelter, Camp kitchen, Clothes and Safety, everyone ticks what they have packed, and a sign-up sheet puts a name next to each piece of shared gear.

From empty list to packed car

1
Start from the camping list

The template opens with tent, sleeping pads, stove and fuel, cooler, rain jacket, first aid kit and headlamps under four sections. Delete what you do not need and type in what you do.

2
Share it in the trip chat

The card shows the sections and how much is ticked. Pick the Board layout and each section becomes its own tile, so the empty Safety tile stands out.

3
Tick as you pack

Tap a row to tick it; tap again to untick. Anyone with the link can add the thing you forgot, and the next person to open the list sees it.

Personal gear on a list, shared gear on a sheet

⛺
Shared gear gets a name

A tick on a list does not say who packed it. For the stove, the tarp and the water filter, use a Sheet with a sign-up column: each item shows who is bringing it, and blanks show as Open.

📶
Pack at home, not at the trailhead

The list is a web page, so ticking needs a signal. Pack the night before with the list open and the car is loaded before anyone loses service.

📲
Nothing to install

Half the group on iPhone, half on Android, one cousin on a tablet: the link opens the same way for all of them, with no app or account.

Camping packing list FAQ

Is it free?
Yes. The list, the sheet and the card in the chat are free, with no account for anyone.
Does it work without signal?
Opening and ticking the list needs a connection. Pack at home where you have signal, or take a screenshot of the list before you lose service.
Can I see who packed each item?
A tick says an item is packed, not by whom. For shared gear where names matter, use a Sheet with a sign-up column so each item shows who is bringing it.
Can people add items after I share it?
Yes. Anyone with the link can add a row, tick and untick, so the person who remembers the bear canister can add it themselves.
Can I use it for a trip that is not camping?
Yes. The List also has packing, weekend trip, moving and party templates, and every row can be edited.
Does it work in WhatsApp and iMessage?
Yes. The link unfurls as a card in iMessage, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Slack and any app that shows link previews.
