Away game, wedding, airport run: put every car on one link. Each car is its own row with its own seats, riders tap the car they want, and a full car simply stops taking riders. For the school run, set it to repeat and the same link resets every week.
How carpool sign-up works
Create an Event with the time and the meeting point. Under Attendance, add a slot for each car: the driver and departure as its label (“Dana's minivan, leaves 7:40”), the free seats as its spots.
Paste it in the team or family chat. The Slots card shows one bar per car, so everyone sees where the room is before they tap.
Riders tap a car and add their name. A full car stops taking riders and the others keep showing seats left. Re-share after a few sign-ups and the fresh card shows which cars still have room.
Seats you can see at a glance
No account, no email confirmation, no profile. Riders open the link, pick a car and type a name.
All the cars sit on one page, each with its own count, so nobody has to check four links to find a seat and drivers see exactly who is riding with them.
The meeting point opens in Maps, Add to calendar puts the ride in Google, Apple or Outlook, and Remind me pings a rider's phone before it is time to go.

Same idea, different situations. Pick the one that matches your group.
Set the Event to repeat every week with a row per driver. When the week's run is over, the link rolls over to the next one: rows kept, riders cleared, no Sunday-night thread.
A row per parent's car for Saturday's game. For the whole season, put it in a Hub next to the schedule so the team finds every ride in one place.
The Wedding weekend plan includes a Carpools sheet beside the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony and the hotel notes.
A weekly Event with a row per weekday: coworkers take a seat for the days they are in. It cuts parking costs and the “anyone driving in tomorrow?” ping.
Make your carpool link foolproof
Type the pickup spot in the place field and it opens in Maps for every rider. Name the ride in the title so the card says where everyone is going.
Set the time ten minutes before you really need to leave. Someone is always late; the buffer keeps you on schedule.
Riders can leave “pick me up at Oak and 5th” in Add a note for the host. Notes go to you, not to the whole group.
A Sheet from the Carpool template has Driver, Seats, Riders and Leaving columns. Drivers add their own row, and the Seats column totals up so you know the room you have.
