Skip the “create an account to see your match” routine. Share one Sheet in the family chat or the team Slack, and each person adds a row with their name, wishlist and sizes from their phone. You draw the names with the next-name rule, message each match privately, and you are done.
How to organize a Secret Santa
Start a Sheet from Blank and tap each column name to rename it: Name, Wishlist, Sizes and hints, Ship to. Put the budget and the deadline in the title, like “Family Secret Santa, $30, wishlists by Dec 10”.
Drop it in the group chat. Each person taps a blank row and types from their phone, and they can come back and edit their own row later. The card shows the table filling in.
Once everyone is in, shuffle the names and give each person the next one down, the last wrapping to the first. Message each match privately; never post the pairings.
No account wall for Grandma
Many Secret Santa sites ask each person for an email address or an account. Here there is nothing to fill in but the sheet: tap, type your wishes, done.
You do not need to hand your family's addresses to a third party to swap presents. CollectiveTap never asks for them.
The family chat stays the place you coordinate. The sheet fills in as people add themselves, and sharing the link again posts a card with the rows so far, which quietly nudges the stragglers.
Run it the way your group likes
A shared sheet works for every flavor of gift exchange.
Everyone adds a row with their name and a wishlist link. You shuffle, pair each person with the next, and message the matches privately. Two minutes, start to finish.
Skip the draw. Make an Event for the party with Going / Maybe / Can't go and plus-ones, and use the sheet for who is bringing a gift under the cap.
A Ship to column lets out-of-town matches send the gift straight there, and a wishlist link means nobody guesses sizes or colors.
Not sure whether it is a $20 or a $40 year? Post a Vote first, then set the winner in the sheet's title. Add a Theme column if you like.
Run a drama-free gift exchange
Shuffle the finished list and give each person the next name down; the last wraps back to the first. A self-draw becomes impossible.
The sheet is visible to everyone with the link, which is right for wishlists and wrong for pairings. Matches live in private messages, never on the link.
Put the price cap in the title so it shows on the card in every chat. No ten-dollar-versus-hundred-dollar mismatch on the day.
Add “wishlists by Dec 10” to the title. People procrastinate; a date on every preview nudges them, and re-sharing shows who has not added a row yet.
